Sunset Air Display 2

I always liked the Gladiator. This is the first one I've seen fly.

Bottom view of the Hawker Hind. That's what I call a steep turn. Not bad for an old lady. ::)

Nice view of the Sea Hurricane. A little bird told me we might get to see a Seafire next season. ;)

Here's a couple for Ozzy. Best I can do for now. The light was failing rapidly when the Spitfire closed the show.

Hope you like 'em. ;)

Thanks for those last two Doug, put a smile on my face.
So what is the word on the Seafire? Just I'm prepared to make a pilgrimage to see one of those fly as I've only ever seen them in museums!!!

Just superb. This season you have given the whole of Sim V a real treat with your airshow shots and that new camera looks to be the business. I'll miss your stuff now that the airshow season is ending.

Well Mark, there are two L MkIIIc Seafires under restoration in the UK and one has been close to flying now for about two years but never quite gets there, just like the Tempest II and the RNHF's Sea Fury. If all three of these machines make it into the air next season Flying Legends will be truly unmissable.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments. I've had a great time this year & really enjoyed taking all these shots. I'm delighted with the new camera now I'm getting used to it & expect some great results from you when you use yours in anger. They will probably put my efforts to shame.

That shot of the Spitfire (last one in this thread) could have been a classic. It looks almost like an air-to-air shot & I can hardly believe I took it from the ground. It was a pure fluke & I won't pretend it was intentional. Pity the sun decided to pop behind a big storm cloud just at the wrong time but that's how the cookie crumbles. ::) It's given me a few ideas but it might be a long time before I can duplicate it.

I'll miss your stuff now that the airshow season is ending.

I'm not looking forward to winter at all but the season ain't quite over yet. Weather permitting there's Yeovilton & Biggin Hill next weekend. I can fit both in if I set out early enough. The thought of being stuck in those inevitable traffic jams puts me off :o but the possiblity of seeing the Sea Hawk & Sea Fury & capturing them on my new camera is just too tempting. ;)

That Gladiator!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT,LOVE IT!!!!
And the Spits are quite choice also!
I'm quickly starting to think that some of the most awesome aircraft are to be found over the pond, I always thought that I have seen some of the best here but Hagar keeps proving me wrong ;)
Looks like a new Desktop Background is in order :)

I hope they both turn up. The sight of those two classics together is a photo opportunity  that just can't be missed. Weather permitting I will be at the end of season show at Duxford on October 10th so maybe my season is not quite done yet.

Spitfire shot is stunning. Some air to air shots are not even that good.
