"Airbourne" Day 3

Postby Hagar » Sat Aug 14, 2004 5:59 pm

I can't beat my shots of the Spitfire & Harrier so back to normal. Despite the best efforts of the weather forecasters, today turned out bright & sunny. Best day so far. ;D

I decided that if the aircraft were too far away I would have to get closer. ::)

First I took a few shots of the helicopters from my old spotting haunt by the river bank.

After they returned from Eastbourne I positioned myself close to the end of the active runway to get a few close-ups. I soon spotted a familiar shape coming in from the sea. Didn't expect to see this today. Not easy to get a good angle when it's coming directly towards you. :-[Image

These guys took me by surprise. I'm still kicking myself for messing up a great opportunity. You only get one chance. >:(

I saw this chap take off so I was looking out for him. He did a touch & go so I got 2 chances this time & still messed it up. These things come in pretty fast.

A couple of pretty little biplanes for a change. They do a nice sideslip approach cos it's impossible to see over the nose.

Ah, Here's the Harrier at last. :D I've been waiting all day for this. Imagine lining up behind him. :o

See the reward for my partience in my More WooHooo.......! thread. ;) 8)

The weather looks fine for tomorrow. It's the last day so I'll try to do better.

I can't believe what an incredible weekend you are having Doug, I'm simply green with envy.
I like the Yak and Stearman photos ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
