Home from the Gulf

Postby ozzy72 » Sun Jun 06, 2004 9:00 am

This was taken the day we got back from the Gulf ('91), a Chinook of 18 Sqn. You can't see it in this shot but there are little yellow camels painted just behind the cockpit for missions completed...

That dirty effect is mostly the old camouflage paint underneath coming through. If you look to the right of the shot you'll see the 'normal' look, this one has just had a layer of paint whacked over the top to help it blend in and be slightly less obvious than a turd on a billiard table ;D

I never did understand why they painted bohemoth aircraft like the C-5 and C-141 in camoflauge...

Like someones really gonna go in the air... "Hehehe... You can't seee meee..." ::)

Cool pic, tho'. :) Love the notice on the wall

Great photo pal. By the way, does the MOD know you have been taking pics in a restricted area? ;)

Where were you in the Gulf Ozzy?

I went through Doha Qatar, Riyadh and several other places (can't remember them all).
