D-Day airshow, part 2

Postby HawkerTempest5 » Sun Jun 06, 2004 4:17 pm

Some aircraft from a slightly more modern era at Duxford.
Image
Royal Navy Lynx.
Image
The mighty Sea King.

Well, some one must be able to fly it! The rather awesome Westland WAH 64D.
Image
Sadly not flying, but looking every inch the warrior it is, the mighty McDonnell Douglas Phantom.
Image
Not flying today but maybe next year? Avro Vulcan B2.
Image
So good I though it deserved to be included twice. One of my all time favourite Military jet aircraft, the awesome Phantom.
Image
Bae Systems Nimrod MR2 took part in the flying display.
Image
A bit older now, the Chipmunk!
Image
And closing the show in style, the Red Devils.
Image
Flying the flag. The Red Devils of the Parachute Regiment. A fitting end to any tribute to D-Day.

great shots. Cant wait till the vulcan is flying once again.
The nimrod puts on one heck of a loud display itself doesnt it:)
As for the Apache, it really isnt supposed to fly at airshows yet, however, the blue eagles have added it to the team, and i personally cant wait to see what they can do with it:)

Gorgeous shots Roger. Let us hope that XH558 gets back up where she belongs soon ;)
Nice to see some proper planes like F4s and Chippies though ;D

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Nice shots Tempest old chap. ;)

A bit older now, the Chipmunk!

That's the strangest Chipmunk I ever did see. Doesn't look right without the good ol' "Dripsy" Major up front. Quite natty though. ::)
