Under the Bridge

In case you don't read AVWeb...

In September of 2003, Zoltan Veres flew his American-made Culp's Special biplane under Budapest's one-thousand-year-old Chain Bridge as part of a Hungarian national holiday.

Fun to do in simulators, and nice to see a picture of it in real life :)

I was actually there chaps 8) But not flying :'(
This was the St. Stevens Day last year (St. Steven is Hungarys patron saint), and the bridge was only opened in 1849 (designed by one Mr. Clark, and built by another ::)), and was the first permanent link between Buda and Pest.
For really mad check out the pass made by Peter Besenyei in his Su-29, inverted under the same bridge 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
I did post some pics of this biplane doing its stuff at the national airshow the week before, brilliant ;D

Ozzy

Ps. Scott I was grounded this day by the government on recommendation from my Hind driving friends ;D Something about needing a big field to hover in :P

The same guy, Zoltan Veres, is going to attempt 70 continuous rolls to set a record on May 28 at 9:30am (Hungarian time) in Eger, Hungary.
