


The Jersey Airlines Heron flew in with some passengers. The chap under the engine is the captain so I couldn't really ask him to move. I mentioned that I used to see them regularly in the old days. He said it's a pity they weren't still in service. This one has pneumatically operated disc brakes from a jet fighter (I forget which) as the original brake bags have been impossible to get hold of for many years. The decision by Dunlop to stop supplying parts is what killed off the Dove & Heron almost overnight. >:(

Here's the piece de resistance. The most beautifully restored DH Dragon you ever did see. It's immaculate. When I returned to get some better shots it had left. >:(
