A Fun beach to fly

Postby elvis767 » Sun Feb 01, 2004 10:51 am

Here are the photos of St. Marteen airport
The planes impress most people on the beach, flying over just seconds before touching down at Princess Juliana airport. Paradise for the beach lovers, having a lovely tropical beach, and for the aviation fanatics that spend hours on end observing the very low flying skills of giant commercial plane pilots...

12 Boeing 747 operate daily to St. Marteen ! The heavy Jumbo is the most impressive of all and atracts the looks of everybody aroun...

In this photo, from inside one 747 of Air France, it possible to have one idea of the small strip of beach just before the head of the landing strip for planes in St. Marteen

So low that the belly of the 747 reflects in the deep blue sea of St. Marteen !  8)

normally i'd say: old topic! several people posted shots about TNCM here before...but in this thread i finally see one with girls on the beach! i know some people here would prefer to see shots of the gay bar located next to the airport, but i like the girls!  ;)

Wow, awesome..........I had no idea the RWY T-hold was that close to the beach and people were that close to landing aircraft!
The guys over at Margarita Air will love these!! We fly around the Caribbean alot tho I havent been at the St. Marteen Apt as yet, heh,....... I will tho and I'll have to add some scenery with FSE to reflect this. :D
Meanwhile though just a little further out from the beach, this fellow had his attention a bit diverted :o :o :o........................

All of the shots are great except for the fat guy in the speedo on the beach.  If I was the captain of those jets, I would do an immediate go around and head back home.  No reason to subject his passengers to that! ;D

I bought a few video tapes off Ebay one a Kai Tak 1 1/2 hrs
and the other this amazing place!!!
This video is over two hours of nothing but planes coming and going out of this place!!
The take offs are quite spectacular too!! There is a mountain straight ahead so the planes have to start turning as they climb right after take off!!
I'm hoping too be able to go there some day and do some "bird" watching!!!
