We.nt online to see why it would be flying back and forth at low level over NOLA, and discovered that it was visiting as part of a smallish warbird fly-in at Lakefront, where I hadn't been since my first visit to NOLA, landing there in a 172 back in 2000.
Hopped on the motorcycle and sped over there the next day to check it out. I didn't take many airplane pics, as most of the ships on display were surrounded five deep with onlookers. But there were other things to pique my interest, like this gorgeous old CB750 in the parking lot...

And this immaculately-restored HD hack in the WWII re-enactment area.

One of the best fly-in photos I've ever taken... and it's the tail end of an old Plymouth, lol. But dig that vintage license plate!!

...and oh yeah, Fifi was there... I saw them clearing people from a very large space by the flight line, and waited patiently until she landed from a revenue joy ride and was towed in for static display. What a joy and an honor to see this beauty in full operation!
