Missing Spinners & Props

Postby kcib2u » Thu Feb 09, 2006 5:13 pm

Murphy has struck again!!!!!

I've have about two hundred planes in my CFS folder.

They were all working fairly well with little to no bugs.

Then I LOST Window 2000 operation system and had to
reload!!!

I've reinstalled everything including CFS.  I had save the
critical CFS files in a backup location.  So I was able receate my CFS folder.

HOWEVER!  About a third of the WWII aircraft have lost
there spinners and/or props in the visual models.

It appear to me to be a CFS related problem since these
planes use to have these features.

Should I just reload CFS again and hope it fixes itself.

Frankly, I don't know what to do.

Any and all suggestion welcomed, thanks

It could be that you've lost part of the effects or textures that are needed. A re-install of CFS should fix it ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Thanks for the tip.

I reloaded CFS and all the planes were fine.

Then as it frequently happen CFS generates an "error"
or aborts to a"pale screen" format.

After which the lost spinners and props occur.

It appears these errors and pale screen crashes lead to
"erroneous data" being written to the CFG file.

Like the 'performace_mode' line, the 'imagecomplexity' line, the propeller_visibility' line and others ...etc.

All or some of which leads to the lost spinners & props.

So if your having the "pale screen" crashes you might be losing your spinners & props.

Love to learn something everyday!!!!!!  ::)
