The Case of the Phantom DP File.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with my latest daft Problem   ???  ???

I am having difficulty installing the "Russian Spitfire" that I found in one of the campaigns on the site.  I followed the normal procedure and everything seemed to be normal, but the plane did not appear.

I ran the Quick Combat editor ( which makes a good trouble shooting routine) and found that the DP column was blank.  Yet the plane has a DP file.

I then copied the games standard mk I Spit, remamed it Russian spitfire (including in the CFG file) and swapped its texture for the Russian Spit texture....  SAME PROBLEM!!!! :-/  JSQCED lists it as still having no DP file!

Okay, leaving out my sanity (which I know to be borderline) what could be wrong?

All the best,
Ken Attwood,

Ken. If I had CFS1 installed I would check this out for you. Use any DP file you wish but make sure it has the same file prefix as the AIR file of the aircraft you're using it in.
For example: If the AIR file is named Spit.air the DP will be Spit.dp. Delete the corresponding CDP file every time you modify or change a DP. A new one will be created when you run the sim. If the DP file is missing or incorrectly named the aircraft should use the default DP.*

*PS. A generic DP file named default.dp should be in the CFS\Aircraft folder. It's quite common for people to delete this file by mistake.
