Can you give me an example. This used to be a common problem with some FS98 aircraft in CFS1. Many of the early CFS1 aircraft were FS98 or even FS5 designs tweaked to work in CFS1. Some don't even have DP files. The problem is usually caused by the static ground position in the AIR file but can be difficult to fix. It might be easier to find a proper CFS version of the aircraft if possible.

FS98 F-15, as soon as I load, it drops a couple of feet (all of my planes do that - not the problem) however the F-15 bounces about 5 foot in the air and nose dives, therefore crashing - i'll try and get a screenie.

CoG height & Ground angleRe: Boing............

I know the problem. It's very common with earlier designs. The CoG Height & Fuselage Angle need tweaking in the "301 Fuselage" AIR file entries. It's not difficult but there's a knack to it. Also a formula to work out the CoG height from the main gear entries  I haven't done this for a long time as it's easier to edit these entries in Aircraft.cfg in CFS2/FS2002/FS9.

Damn Doug, is there anything about flight simming you DON'T know ???
You were right it was CoG and Fuselage Angle, I just opened the Mig 29 air file and copied the values from that - works perfect now.
Cheers mate

Plenty. :o

CFS1 was my first M$ sim & I once knew more about it than all the others put together. Tweaking the static ground position used to be my speciality. Most of this stuff is not written down & sadly my memory is fading. I struggle just to keep up these days. ::)

Glad you fixed it.  Beginner's luck. It's not always that easy. ;)

Yeah true, I suppose the fact they are basically the same design helped a lot.
Right where were those Germans? ;D

Thanx again
