Alain L'Homme's P-51 & Spitfire II

I dowloaded these after reading the article on the CFS main page here at Simviation Combat Flight Simulator: A Retrospective. The planes look amazing (I found a replica of the Big Beautiful Doll at a store the other day, very accurate). i also heard that the cockpits were supposed to open "under certain conditions" What are those conditions?

Those models were the best available for a very long
