:)  Hi, all.  I was directed to come to simviation.com for some CFS 1 airplanes that are self-executable.  Where on this site can I find them?  Several years ago, I found many downloadable airplanes for CFS1 where all you had to do was to click on the .exe file, and it added it for you.  For some reason, I am unable to manually add new airplanes.  Thanks for any help.

Hi Kraftwerk. Some aircraft are configured to auto-install. Most are not. If you restrict yourself to the auto-installers you are missing out on a lot. Installing files manually is not difficult once you understand the basic principle. May I suggest you take the time to learn. It should only take a few minutes.

I have a lot of experience with guiding newbies through those first few important steps.  I must have helped literally 1,000s of people to get started over the last 5 years. Please visit my Lair & read my Windows Basics article.

Set up your Windows Explorer folder options as shown on the Working with Windows page.

Then download any complete aircraft from the CFS1 section & install it following this tute http://www.simviation.com/acinstall.htm in conjunction with my Aliasing article.
http://www.simviation.com/lair/aliasing1.htm Take the time to read them properly & follow the instructions carefully.

If you still have problems please mail me & tell me the aircraft you wish to install & the page it's posted on. I can then download/install it myself & walk you through it.

There is no reason you cannot do this. ;)

There are a few out there called USF (Ultimate Series Fighters) for CFS. THese are the most accurate add-on aircraft I've ever seen. But Hagar is right. You miss a whole lot by just getting .exe planes. Its very simple to learn. The tutorial he mentioned above is a lot of help. I've only been flying with CFS a month or two and I learned how the first day. Basically unzip it into a temporary folder. Then If there's a folder with the aircraft's name just copy it to the cfs airccraft folder.  For Some files you'll have to create a folder first then put the files in there. THere should be (in most cases) a model folder, a panel folder, a sound folder, a texture folder, an .air file,  a aircaft.cfg file (aircraft.cfg will always be the name of that file), and a .dp file. Godd Luck!
