Getting booted out of CFS1 (offline)?

Postby Professor Brensec » Sat Sep 27, 2003 5:37 am

I have CFS1 installed with Windows Me.

I have noticed that every couple of missions, I will get booted out and returned to the desktop, for no reason.

The funny thing is that the colour of the 'toolbar' on the desktop will be pink instead of the usual grey, after this happens.

I have reistalled a couple of times. I've done system restores back to the point where I first installed the Sim. I have done all the diagnostics I can do, or know of.

What could this be? CFS2 runs perfectly, as does FS2002.

Any help??  ;D ;)

Well the first thing to do Steve is post a CFS1 thread in the CFS1 forum not the 2 forum ::) I'll send Kinga to spank your bottom later ;)
What drivers are you using and what video card? Sounds like a problem there. I found when I got the latest drivers for my Ti4600 a lot of my older games went tits-up.

Sorry about the wrong thing in the wrong hole , mate............ ;D ;) I know it can be painful!  ;)

I have my faithful old 'piece of crap' Intel 82810e integrated card, with it's 'mind boggling' ability to use up to (and including) 11 mb of shared memory!  ;D ;D

I have the latest driver for it from Intel. I am using Directx 9. I installed the driver anD Dirx9 long before this crap began, but I will try to resinstall the drivers, and see what happens.

Thanks mate  ;D ;)

If all else fails an Uninstall/Install usually fixes most problems with CFS1. Unlike CFS2, uninstalling CFS1 will not affect your addons. You will need to reactivate any 3rd party scenery.
