Harrier Jump ... Crash ... Die ... Jet

I have a very odd problem. I have downloaded a McDonnall Douglas AV-8A Harrier Jump Jet. However when I start a mission / free flight on the runway, before I touch ANY of the controls, not even the flaps, the plane leaps about 10ft into the air and comes down again with such a crash that the plane blows up.
It doesn't happen with any other planes. Anyone got any ideas?

Most likely the Landing Gear entries in the AIR file need tweaking. Not difficult if you know how but I no longer have CFS1 installed so I can't check it out. Try it on lower Realism settings. Check the "Player is invincible" option so you won't explode when the sim loads.

Thanks Hagar, I will try that. You see I still have the problem that if I check the Player Is Invincible option, as soon as you crash into the ground (which is what is happening), you get thrown up to 2000ft with no engine! Not the best solution really. I will try tweaking the landing gear settings.
I'll let you know how it goes.
