CFS Holiday Wishlist

Postby Chief_Chainsaw » Sat Dec 25, 2004 2:59 pm

Hey there,
Once I get a few more problems worked out with how all this editing stuff works.... I intend on putting together my own campaign, based on a book me and some friends have been writing for a few years.  Thing is it requires some aircraft I have just not seen available.Well that's not true, a couple of them have been available on the FS98 pages but I still can't get the FS98 to CFS converter to work for me reliably. ANYWAY, I'm hoping to get a
  C-7 Caribou,
  AC-130 Spectre,
  Super Etendard,
  Rafale,
  Turbo Tracker Drone,
  B-52 Drone,
  E-2 Hawkeye Drone,
and an explodable carrier..........
I'll give my firstborn for these... so if someone can teach me how to create this stuff, or help me create it.... I'll be eternally grateful....
            Chainsaw   --- Merry Christmas,
      .         .        .        .       & World Peace - except on our computers

Aye Chainy boy!  ;) I NEVER used the converter for '98 / CFS1... Just put 'em straight in. I still have CFS1 installed so if you can give me the URL to said troublesome CFS1 file then I will check it out for you... It'll give me something to do!! Good luck with your mission... I never could do them quite right!!! lol....

After posting this, I remembred there are explodadble ships available but they only work in missions. So you will have to learn to build missions, then add these objects.Email me at ddaveops@yahoo.com for more info.

If your looking for carriers I have 5

Hi Chainsaw. The CFS Converter is only used to install old FS5 aircraft to CFS1. There might be the odd exception but if you downloaded the files from the FS98/CFS1 sections here they should be ready to go. Install aircraft by pasting the correct folder into the Aircraft folder in the same way as for all the other M$ sims. Check out the installation tutes in the SimV Help section & on my Lair. http://www.simviation.com/lair/CFSACInst.htm
If they don't show up on the selection menu my Aliasing article might help. http://www.simviation.com/lair/aliasing1.htm

PS. I can't help much with the aircraft you want for your missions but I suggest you learn how to install files properly before thinking about that.

PPS. I tried the Hawkeye posted here. http://www.simviation.com/fs98military15.htm
The description says it's for FS5 but it won't convert for me. You might find one that works posted on another site. Try this one. http://home.primusnetz.de/vraab/AWACS.html

Good morning Chief_Chainsaw,

There is a CFS site dedicated solely to Mirage(sp) aircraft and there you'll find several Super Etendards for both CFS1 and FS98.  I'm away from my machine or I would post the site's URL but I'm sure if you did a Yahoo search for "Mirage CFS" you'll find it.

Good luck with your camaign building.  By the way, what is the secenero(sp)?

Yo Chief_Chainsaw,

I went ahead and did a site search.....try this site for your Super Etendard,

  www.mirage4fs.com/slides4.html

When the site opens there will be a menu list on the left side of the screen.  Point to "downloads-aircraft" them click on "other Mirage" when it pops up.  Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see a heading entitled 'View all "other Mirage" Aircraft', click on that and more aircraft will come up, scroll down that page and the Super Etendards for CFS1 and fs98 are near the bottom.

Good hunting and let me know if you find what your looking for.

first off, most gratefulfor the responses, one thing PLEASE don't call me chiefy...   *pouts* I mean I earned the title....   I have the shot of me in uniform and everything with the ridiculous amounts of ribbons and the little eagle over the anchor with the stars....   ANYWAY back to CFS... I tried just straight out installing aircraft and it works for some but others it just won't happen, can't remember whichones exactly now though I have ALOT of aircraft sitting in various folders all over the machine.... I've been running the game for months with all sorts of add-ons and Ican't keep it all straight off the top of my head whichones were screwed up... I'll go through my collection when I get a chance and tell ya what didn't work for me.... thanks in advance for the super etendards...     as for the ships yes I know they have to be in a mission to blow up... I have BBs, CGs, DDGs, subs, etc. I can't seem to find a expodable carrier amongst my acquisitions, but I'll look again.... oh reread one of the posts... it's only some FS98 aircraft that aren't going in... so I gave the converter a shot as a last hope...  can't even find where I put my copy of FS98 to see if they work in FS98 might be bad downloads on my part  anyway thank you very very very much for the assistance

Just noticed you asked about the campaign... LOL well it's mostly for me and my friends as a visual model of what we're writing about.   If you're really interested enough track me down on either AOL/AIM or Yahoo... my AOL/AIM primary name is SCLV,  my name on Yahoo is BCMCPO_Chief_Chainsaw and I'll be glad to tell you all about the project, that goes for anyone interested, it's been a 16 year trip and has been worked on  by more than 200 people from all over the globe.... just warning you, it's a bit hard to grasp the first time through the explanation... LOL
