Was this resolved?
If not, it might it be a firewall problem stopping you from connecting (either yours or your fathers machine)?
If you're in the same location you should be able to play over your own network (LAN = Local Area Network) on the same IP. If you're in a separate location, you can either play via IP or you could still create a distance network.
Of course, you could always visit the GameZone rooms to play and meet other CFS players (bring your own soap as some of the language and behaviour could do with cleaning up).
Generally the nicer folks will help you out with tips to help you play the game (if we help others learn, we will get better games ourselves).

Yep, I only started in CFS 3 years ago when you had to queue to get into RidgeRunners room for a decent game. Now CFS has competition with newer and more graphically intense games. The attendance has dropped to dismal levels but I reckon, if it wasn't for the 'twits' in there, the attendance would still be quite respectable. There used to be a lot of honourable players and it was a pleasure to fly with and against them but they left as the 'twit-level' increased. Nowadays there are still some there but you have to wait longer to find them.

If any newb's see me online and want some dogfighting help in CFS, just give me a shout. I play for fun and only stock. If you do to, I'll try and help ya.

;D Hi

If you're looking for a good folks to fly CFS1 with try Joint Operations.Good folks, no "twits allowed". They have a flight school plus regular combat operations. Try them, good folks and VERY knowleable about the game and technical issues.
