Real stupid

Postby Vblock5 » Tue Apr 08, 2003 8:59 am

Hey guys,

I have been playing so much with CFS3, that when my son asked me a question about CFS1, I drew a total blank. I can't for the life of me remember the shortcut keystrokes to add scenery in CFS1 in the path line. I probably have that info  somewhere, just don't know where. A little help would be appreciated. Thanks. ;D

Hi Vblock. I don't know about keystrokes. This is the method I've always used for activating scenery in CFS1.

Maybe you know different & I've been wrong all these years?

Thanks Haggar,

I appreciate the reply. I figured all the simmers would think I am a dolt. I know what you are reffering me to, unfortunately, thats not what I am looking for. I am trying to find a path line that looks somewhat like this " =\:=\ and then the file on the hard drive\then the specific scenery file\.*BGL, if that is if I recall it correctly. I have never used an "ADD ON" file in my system.

Thank-you

Hi Vblock. I don't think you're a dolt at all. The only dolts in my book are those who are afraid to ask & suffer in silence. I've been at this for a long time & never assumed I know it all. I haven't used some of this stuff for years & my memory is not what it used to be. LOL

There are usually several different ways of doing anything & we all have our own pet methods. I investigated all possible methods of scenery installation before settling for the remote Addon scenery directory described in my FS98 & CFS1 Scenery Clinics. (You might have noticed that M$ later incorporated the idea themselves in FS2000, CFS2 & FS2002.)

I am trying to find a path line that looks somewhat like this " =\:=\ and then the file on the hard drive\then the specific scenery file\.*BGL, if that is if I recall it correctly. I have never used an "ADD ON" file in my system.

Thank-you

I've seen a similar path recommended by some designers in their Readme instructions. I might have tried it a long time ago but have never used this idea myself. If I find something I'll post it here or maybe someone else can help.

Most of the H-World scenery comes with a read me file that gives you the command line.
