Part 2 Been Awhile

Postby Flying Trucker » Mon Apr 09, 2018 10:15 am

Good morning all... <<q

Here is Part 2 and the Arrival at Refuge Cove Seaplane Base "YRC"

FSX Deluxe with Acceleration and Windows 10 Home Edition
Orbx Scenery and Weather Selection
Carenado Cessna 185 Amphibian
Departure: Ganges Seaplane Base "CAX6"...British Columbia...Canada
Arrival: Refuge Cove Seaplane Base "YRC"...British Columbia...Canada...this is the NEW Freeware I just added from Orbx

Cockpit...Removed Yoke to see several Gauges...Left GPS...Auto Pilot & Air Traffic Control Windows Open for a Reason

Surge Narrows Seaplane Base "CAG9" is the last SPB I flew over prior to landing at Refuge Cove Seaplane Base
You can see lots of Seaplane Bases on GPS or if you use Plan-G on a 2nd Monitor
Now what I would like to know is:
Can the GPS & Autopilot be programmed to remain on screen when moving between Views such as Screenshots 1 & 2 here :?:
I have to keep bringing up the GPS & Autopilot when I change Views...ATC Window will remain when changing Views

Refuge Cove SPB "YRC"...Those hills sneak up on you fast...

Base Leg going into Refuge Cove SPB

On Final...using shoreline to help judge height over the water

Last two shots are of Refuge Cove Seaplane Base "YRC"

Really should have opened Pilots Door while Taxiing In...OK..I Forgot...

Comments and Advice most welcome... ;)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Good afternoon all... ;)

Hi Jim

Not sure you are actually speaking about flying a seaplane/floatplane on the simulator or in real life :?:

Having flown and owned several of each types of which only two were on straight floats the world of Swamping opens up a whole new field of aviation and I will also include flying off of straight snow skis or a retractable set of wheel/skis where the skis will move up and down from Full Up...3/4...1/2...1/4...Full Down (with full down unless you have Reverse Thrust...no Brakes).

Lakes and Rivers become landing and take-off areas...if one likes camping an amphibian is the way to go. Not much compares to looking up or out at a Star Filled Sky at night and hearing the call of the wild. Winter camping is just as pleasurable... ;)

There are a few remote privately owned lodges here in various parts of the colony that cater to aviators...during the winter you land on the frozen lake and taxi to the cabin or main lodge.

There was one lodge that also ran an Off the Road Driving Course...it was sponsored by Land Rover...not sure if it was a week or not but I guess it was quite the 4 wheel drive winching course.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
