Stinson L-5

Postby New Light » Tue Feb 06, 2018 10:32 pm

I just bought the new Just Flight Stinson L-5... I haven't "flown" her yet, but she's purdy :D :D :D I'll post some action shots tomorrow. I've been waiting for a payware aircraft that fits between the Cub and the Beaver!

Parked at KHDC by where Fly By Knight would be...

I was hoping A2A would create a Bird Dog. I had the SibWings version in FSX, but there was some kind of license quirk (?) - anyway, I lost it during one of my many computer crashes many years ago and never replaced it. I did "fly" the L19v2MIL.zip freeware version quite a bit in FS9 by Massimo Taccoli, Chris Coarse, and D.G. Seeley. It was great! In fact, I'm rebuilding FS9 on my new pc just to see how it performs with modern equipment. I have a lot left to do, but so far, it's shaping up nicely!

Blue skies,

Nicely done on the shots Dave...

I saw one at an airshow we went too last year and be darned if I can remember the airshow.

The aircraft was configured to carry a stretcher and patient...never paid that much attention to it as it was hot and the beer tent was beckoning...

I seem to have a found a negative item on this bird.

At first, I thought it was a computer or controller glitch, but the fuel selector switch can not be operated through controller mapping, click & drag, or rolling the mouse wheel. You have to use Ctrl+E to start the aircraft.

Hopefully Just Flight will fix this soon. Overall it's a nice plane - I have to be careful not to hit Vne...

Good morning Dave

You almost had me ready to order this bird until you mentioned the fuel selector.

Will wait until they get that fixed and a new release comes out... ;)

Having a real problem with FS Panel Studio right now...trying to add an Auto Pilot to some Carenado Payware Aircraft...
It is a real pain and FS Panel Studio isn't that easy to use.

Well here is a Link I thought you might like to read...you already know the stuff anyways but it might help someone else...

Keep up the great shots Dave.... <<q

***** CORRECTION *****

I figured out how to manipulate the Magneto and Fuel Selector switches!

RIGHT CLICK to turn the switches clockwise

LEFT CLICK AND DRAG to move the switches counterclockwise

More good news - it's Tuesday. PC Aviator gives a 10% discount every Tuesday ~$22.50 vs $25... Well worth the price either way!

Yeah, I bought FS panel Studio a few months ago thinking I would need it to add F1 GTN & GNS avionics to the VC Panels and add some upgraded electronics and avionics to some FS9 aircraft - I felt a bit duped because it was very unclear whether or not you could change VC cockpits, while it was very clear that you could add ANY gauges to ANY cockpit...

I've had a hard time adding F1 GTN & GNS avionics and the REX/MilViz Wx Radar to my A2A, MilViz and Carenado aircraft even though, supposedly, all I should have to do is run the configuration tool and it's supposed to work ?!?!? The 2D panel works just fine, but I've had very limited success getting them set up, looking and functioning properly in the VC panel. Ant's Airplanes and Eaglesoft aircraft were no problem though...

Thanks for the link also!

Best wishes!

Hi Dave

Your welcome for the Link...

I have been on FS Panel Studio for over a hour trying to add an Autopilot and Horizontal Situation Indicator with Bug to the Carenado C172 on Floats and the Carenado C172 on Wheel/Skis.

I finally had to get away from the computer for a bit...both these aircraft have 2D and Virtual Cockpits...I can't seem to figure this program out...I have read several other peoples comments and they say it does not work well with Microsoft FSX...works for FS98 & FS 2000...also touchy with FS2004.

Hey...keep those screenshots coming Dave...

Yeah, I chalked it up to "lesson learned" with FSPS.

I don't have the Float and Ski versions of the Carenado Skyhawk. Do you know if it's the same panel as the wheel version?

Are you trying to add stock MSFS HSI and AP?
