Back up and running

Postby Flying Trucker » Tue Jan 30, 2018 12:58 pm

Good afternoon all...

It has been 6 weeks + or - a day or two trying to get this Electronic Gizmo to play nicely with Microsoft Flight Simulator

During that time this thing has been back to the store at least 3 times for more than 5 days each...they had it more than I did

I was kept busy with other things so it was not all that bad

Well here is what I have now as I have not bought STEAM or anything else yet...I was waiting to see if the store could get this running

Windows 10 Home (x64)...they took off Windows 10 Professional
Microsoft FSX Deluxe with Acceleration

Processor:
3.40 Gigahertz Intel Core i7-6700
64-Bit Ready
Multi Core (4 Total)
Hyper Threaded 8 Total

Drive "C"...999.61 GB (NEW)........808.26 GB Free
Drive "D"...1989.44 GB................1928.15 GB Free

Display:
Nvidia GeForce GTX 960

Orbx Scenery
Aircraft Payware Add-ons

Simulated Flight (not completed yet)
Departure: Bowerman Airport (KHQM)
Destination: Cushman Meadows Airport (KCMW)
Both in Washington State....United States

Aircraft: Alabeo C207 Skywagon

Did not reinstall:
REX + Overdrive
Texture Booster
Flight Simulator Water Configurator (FSWC)
Tongass Fjords (which they lost and I can't find where I purchased it as they Lost ALL my Documents also)

So here are some shots...FRAPS SET TO 20...SLIDERS ARE NOT MAXED OUT AT ALL

Pictures look good :D
I just recently upgraded my system to Windows 10 and FSX works excellent :D
Most important to me is a better video card and more RAM so that FSX isn't such a resource hog anymore :D
FSX can handle snow effects now with out the big frame rate hits that i got in the past. :D
My old windows 7 computer that i just relpaced I got it in 2010 with FSX and i had the computer for 8 years. It was very old in terms of computers. :geek:

Hi Doug, nice to see you back in the virtual skies :)

Take a look at your second screenshot: can you see how blurry the city street are, just above the river ? They shouldn't be so blurry in such a short distance.
Probably you'll have to dive into your game settings again, because they might have reverted to a default level or something like that.
The settings to change are probably about texture filtering (to be set to anisotropic) and lod radius.
Good luck ;)
