Circuits and Bumps

Goodly evening all... <<v

Well tried some Circuits with the Carenado C152 which has no autopilot and the Microsoft FSX Deluxe + Acceleration Default Cessna 172.
The Autopilot made things much easier.

Windows 10 and Microsoft FSX Deluxe + Acceleration
Orbx Scenery
REX + Overdrive
FSWC...Flight Simulator Water Configurator
Early morning...Dawn and December...Fall/Autumn
Location is Friday Harbor...Washington State...United States

Now Stephane (Daube) I got a question for you...
In screenshot two you see the runway, blue taxiway and ramp lights
But on the climb out in screenshot three only the runway lights are visible...that is strange...that climb out was right after the approach screenshot...am I missing a setting or perhaps a pause prior to the screenshot was in order :?:

Turning onto a Right Base for Runway 34

At many airports when on Approach one needs to get used to oncoming Vehicle Lights and Street Lights along a road that parallels the Active Runway
Those are Street Lights on starboard side...could be the odd vehicle but Road Traffic, Ships and Boats sliders were set to 33%
That is why it is so important to keep one's Night Endorsement current... ;)

I always enjoyed Aviating at Sunrise or Sunset...

Comments and Advice most welcome... ;)

Hi Doug !
Nice shots here. I can see the picture quality (antialiasing and such) is now back to high level as it should :)
Concerning your lights problems, I don't really know. I believe the taxiway lights generally fade away quite fast for all airports, I don't think it's a problem.

Ok...Thanks Stephane

I was wondering if a setting was wrong somewhere.

Is it really necessary to Pause a Simulated Flight and then Resume that Simulated Flight prior to taking a Screenshot :?:

I always did that in the other Flight Simulator Programs like FS 2004 but this is FSX and a much newer computer so was just wondering if the Pause is really necessary.

To pause the sim ?
It's only necessary when the "blurries" caught you up during your flight. The pause will then allow the local terrain textures to reach their maximal resolution, making your screenshot look nicer.
But on a powerful computer that has no blurries, it's not necessary.

That being said, for me it's still necessary to pause the sim to take a screen. Not for technical reasons, since I don't have blurries or anything like that.
But I simply want to take the time to find the sweet view angle to take my screenshot. If for example I want to take a screen while flying over my departure airport, if I don't pause, that airport is soon going to get out of sight :)
That's why I always pause. Check the aircraft position, check the resulting view angles, and if necessary, unpause to allow the plane to reach a more suitable position/bank angle/pitch/roll etc... and pause when I reach the sweet spot, so that can take my time to adjust the camera position... and finally take my screenshot, go back to the cockpit, and unpause to resume my flight.

some lovely shots there..........wish i had a pedal control to capture screenshots.....the eye sees the perfect shot so quickly, but then there's having to remove my hands from the controls, and all is lost :D

Thanks for the reply Yan...

Have you tried what Daube mentioned in the above posts...about Pausing...then setting up your screenshot :?:

oh yes, but a pedal or whatever would be much more spontaneous.....sometimes great shots pass by so quickly............ :D

I might be wrong, but I believe the screenshot action can be remapped to a joystick button.
If you have some unused buttons somewhere on your flight controls, you might want to assign them to the screenshot action :)

This will depend on the method you use for taking screenshots. Either the default Capture Screenshot (V key) or Pause (P key) commands can be assigned to a button on your controller from FSX Settings > Controls > Buttons/Keys. Select the appropriate command then click New Assignment & press the desired button on your controller.
