Cessna 337H at KHQM

Postby Flying Trucker » Sun Jun 25, 2017 7:35 pm

Goodly evening all... <<q

Well they say Practice makes Perfect and I need a lot of Practice...

Took your advice again Stephane "Daube" and tried the following screenshots...

Think I messed a couple up...

Windows 10 Professional and Microsoft FSX Deluxe with Acceleration
ORBX Scenery
Location for circuits is Bowerman Airport "KHQM", Washington State, USA
Early evening simulated flight

Carenado Cessna 337H simulated aircraft...

REX Plus Overdrive
FSWC (Flight Simulator Water Configurator)

Most sliders are still at 70% in FSX and 30 for Frame Rate

From copilots seat
Image

Taxiing out...wondered about this shot
Not sure how much detail I was going to get taking these screenshots at Dusk or Night
Image

Departing but remaining in Circuit for several touch and goes
Image

Now this screenshot might have been a waste of time...I tried a side shot and did not like it either
Tried to accomplish showing the Gear going down...Perhaps the Cessna 337 was not the simulated aircraft to try this screenshot on...not sure
Image

On Final
Image

Perhaps should have shifted camera back to copilots side
Image

Touchdown...this was an actual Full Stop and taxi back in to ramp...after three or four approaches I found myself making more mistakes...
Saved Flight...will probably try it with another light twin another night...

Comments and advice most welcome... ;)
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Hi Doug,

I like these shots :)

Especially the first two ones. The angles of view and general composition are just perfect ! 8-)

The third view is not bad at all either, nice dynamic effect.

The forth one, I see what you mean. I think the main problems are:
- you zoomed out a bit too much
- you should have move the camera sideways to the left, like 5 meters, to give a different perspective of the plane.
But honesty, it's minor corrections. The base situation for the screenshot is good. All that is needed is to pause the sim, and move that camera around to see what can be done :)

Fifth and sixth shots are fine, but repeating. One of them would have been enough.

The last shot is not so good though. Nothing special to see, the angle of view itself is not original and shows the bad smoke effect. Upon landings like that, I would recommend you to choose and angle of view which shows the beauty of the plane (like, a close up or something like that).
Another trick that you can use is the "crop" the picture, to remove for example the bottom part which shows only plain runway. Cropping is not really editiing. You can try it out, sometimes it's a good way to get that perfect position of the plane on the shot, or to get rid of a useless/empty part of the screen.
I would recommend you to crop only the vertical dimension (keep the image width) though.

Finally, these shots are still a bit too dark. Try some time frame a bit closer to sun rise, to get a bit more ambiant light but no sun light. ;)
