I've been a flight simmer since the Spectrum days and up till now I have never bought an aircraft........I have finally succumbed and paid money for the Alabeo C207 Skywagon.

The reason I chose this one is the "Bush" variant, it lands on a postage stamp. Here we are flying over Holland and aiming for Granville LFRF in France. It looks quite good at a distance but the detail really shows in a closeup:

Finally at my destination and getting a fill up:

LoL....sounds about right. I think I'll stick to sims.

The airport scenery (and young lady) comes courtesy of the ORBX free European airports pack.

The downside of this aircraft: I had to turn down a few settings in order to maintain FPS. Without FXAA on (normally off on my machine) it doesn't look so good.

When will AA be sorted in P3D?

Mr Jet is right, that aircraft does look like you should be making payments. GREAT quality!

Great shots, too.

Don't forget to wash the bugs off. :D

As to prepar3d, good news & bad news.

Good news - I think that it'll be out "real soon". Next month, two at the most.

Bad news - I'm thinking that it'll be version 3.x.

Why is V3.x bad news? Most people will scream and cry about having to give M$ LM more money to buy the next full version upgrade.

There may many add-ons that people have bought that will not work.

Orbx comes to mind. They said (last year, I think) that if their software has to be significantly altered to work with the next full version of P3d, you'll need to either buy new software or pay for an upgrade to what you already have.

Personally, I'm looking forward to it. P3d V2.5 is somewhat better than FSX in some ways, but lacking in a couple of areas.

PS - forget the girl. I suspect that you can make payments on the plane or the girl, but not both.

If I scrimped and saved I could probably afford a small plane, I could probably handle it too.........can't say the same for a young French Lady.

When V3 comes out it will have bugs. It will probably require better hardware than I currently have (could be wrong). Unless it's significantly better than 2.5 I think I'll wait a couple of years.

As I said before I've had flight sims for years and with each new incarnation I've felt exactly the same ambivalence: great enjoyment combined with frustration at various performance issues......why move on to a new version if I know I'll end up feeling exactly the same way about it?

........EDIT:

on the other hand ;)

From what I hear about every "new" version, of ANY flight sim, that seems to be the way that it goes.

I'll probably get it if it fixes a few of my personal complaints. If not I'll wait for things to smooth out.

When V2.x came out I couldn't use it for about two months. But they did fix it in the end.
