Clouds

Did not plan to take shots of this flight but seems like there is some serious weather around Bowerman (KHQM).

I took of from KCLM, about 40 mins from KHQM, give or take. Had a 14 knots cross wind, take-off was, well gliding sideways. Cloud ceiling was 5800.

As I climbed to cruise altitude, 9000 feet I had a 30 knot wind blowing me into Oblivion, flew at a hard angle to maintain LNAV.

Request to decent to 7000 was denied, ATC knows something I don't.

Came into Bowerman, landed into a 13 knot wind gusting at 25. Landed ILS RWY 24. Flight was IFR.

It was jolly

Stunning! As you may have noticed, I haunt KHQM myself... If you ever see a Goose around I'm busy working, usually running supplies up the coast to Destruction Island and back. Or tourists over St Helens. But if you spot me jolling in my lekker GeeBee, just try to keep up... I'm out for a little "jog"...

I am always fascinated by clouds, and their effects...

http://eo.ucar.edu/webweather/cloud3.html

..looking at them...

....but always steering clear of them, in my Sim GA Aircraft...and on my Honda Motorbike!.... :o...!

They generally result in an uncomfortable (and often dangerous) trip!... :(...!

Paul...looking at Clouds...from a safe distance!.. ;D...!

Great shots, the weather is looking very unfriendly  ;D as for the Islander, I love this bird for short hops!
