Virtavia - BAC TSR.2

Postby todayshorse » Thu Aug 11, 2011 10:29 pm

Greetings! My first screenshot post for a long long time.

Ive lusted after this aircraft for far too long and suffice to say, installing windows on my iMac was not something i did lightly but its the best thing ive done for ages!!!
I have missed this place! Anyhoo, here we go :-

Go easy on me please, im a little rusty. But isnt she a beauty? Its certainly no PMDG style aircraft, but then it only cost me 12 english pounds. She flies well, has a few moving parts, chutes, bomb doors, inlet doors and speedbrakes, afterburners and what-not. Theres a few freeware TSR2's floating about but none entralled me too much. So i treated myself after many hours faffing with fs9 attempting to get it back to how i used to have it........

If any of you have not heard of the TSR2 its well worth looking up. Another fantastic aircraft years ahead of its time ruined by our government at a time when they thought 'we wouldnt need manned aircraft anymore'.........

Everything and i mean everything was scrapped, although 2 survive, one is at Duxford.

fsskyworld provides the sky, scenery is default with a little RAF Coningsby i found somewhere thrown in.

Thanks for looking.. ;)

If that's your idea of rust, I guess we have some really spectacular stuff to look forward to when you get yourself all polished up again! Nice work.

What a very interesting aircraft... I saw some pictures of it a long time ago, but I guess I forgot about it. Thank you for bringing memories back  ;) Great shots too  ;D

Wow, welcome back Simon, long time no see. :o

Nice set and certainly an interesting aircraft. The Royal Australian Airforce were considering buying this aircraft before the project was scrapped and instead went with the F-111. ;)

Its great to see you back in the saddle, hopefully we'll see more from you. I always enjoyed your screenshots and repaints. :)

Those are some nice pictures 8-)
Most people think that flying a plane is dangerous, except pilots because they know how easy it is.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.

Thanks guys :)

Ive popped in a few times and occasionally go back to page 200 or whatever and wonder where i found the time!

Really didnt think my imac would run fs9 so very very well, its by no means a recent 'mac.....it also runs FSX which i have on an external drive pretty reasonably but not as good as id like.

Thanks for the comments  8-)

Welcome back Simon...well done on the shots... :)

Another aircraft that should have been better funded and gone into production... ;)

It just goes to show there were ignorant stupid politicians on both sides of the pond in the empire... :-X

They've finished restoring the TSR.2 at Duxford IWM now, she is next to Concorde.
An amazing plane that should have never met the end it did, it'd have put Britain at the forefront of aviation...

Wow, look who popped back in here! Good to see ya around Simon. I've always loved the way the TSR.2 looked! Even now it looks like something that just came out! And as always, great looking shots!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.
