Sunset, way up north...

... this was an Anchorage-Frankfurt flight. It was FREEZING. -4C at take-off, got down to -80 at FL300 above the arctic pole. The sunset was sweeping down on the horizon, but because of the high latitude, I got to see both the sunset and the sunrise in the horizon  :).

Oh, and at this point, I lost 1 engine  ;D. Figured there wasn't anywhere to land, and I still made it to Frankfurt. Oh well.

That's a high rate of climb in #1 - sure the engines were working hard  :)

Hate to be a pain in the donkey but, if that's sunset in number one, the polar route to Europe is the other direction
