Oh my...

I replaced my Active Sky clouds this morning with the new freeware FS9 HDE package here at Simviation. What a dramatic difference this package makes!

Thanks for the heads-up, Shane. Downloaded the package and replaced my clouds, sky colours and envmap. Very good indeed.

Downloading now. I have REP and Silver Wings. Do I need to uninstall Silver Wings before installing HDE?

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

The only part of Silver Wings that would be affected by this download is the grass texture, 'detail1.bmp'.

The grass texture in this pack is a better one in my opinion. (but the 'REX grass I' for FSX used in FS9 is the best looking option, also IMO)

This will only replace your clouds, sky colors, grass, and reflections on planes.

I found out that the grass option (detail1.bmp) causes some problems with certain add-on sceneries. For example it looks like a floating surface at Emma Field and the parking spots at Fly Tampas St. Maarten starts to flash between light and dark grey. Replacing it with the original MS file solved the problem.

Thanks. I went ahead and installed it last night in my 2nd install with no apparent problems. See my post in Freeware. I even forgot to UnVOZ first and it still did not seem to have any undesireable effects. I did remember to make a backup though. Then I put it in my 1st install, still no problems. Love it. I still don't like the size and scattering of Cumulus when you choose Fair weather or SW nice day. But everything else is primo.

Have not seen any of these problems yet, but I have not been to those locations. I will watch for it. Thanks. :)
