cat in trouble

It's late in the afternoon when we lift off from Sitka for the short hop to Chatham.

We decide to fly across the ranges on Baronof island, while we enjoy a beautiful sunset, and a moonrise...

but on the other side of the range, the weather is not so good...

..and the engines start to splutter too, due a defective carburator heaters. Then they quit altogether...

...luckily we were over water, and we make a succesfull dead stick landing.

We radioed for help, and within an hour, a Goose of the company arrives..

..which makes a waterlanding close by.

The mechanics on the Goose brought spares and soon, we can taxi to Chatham, which is close by.
