Hey guys. I am planning a transpacific hop in Thomas Ruth's A345, so this is the first leg (the next one will be HNL-HKG). Hope you enjoy.
Boarding at SFO. In the background is a British Airways 747-400, a KLM MD-11 and a United 757-200.
Short line for takeoff at SFO today: AA 767 taking off, Delta MD-90 holding short, a United B733 behind the MD, a Continental 737 after the United 737 and then me
The four Rolls Royce Trent 553 engines getting the ex-longest-range-aircraft-in-the-world into the skies.
The Trent 553s was still roaring as the A340 slowly climbed up to a cruising altitude of FL380.

I then left the computer. When I came back an hour later (I used real-world weather) this was the sight that met me.
FedEx MD-11F passing me, flying at a lower altitude.
After four or five hours in the air, the wheels of the A340 can touch solid ground again. (Not your usual landing angle )
Parked at the gate with US Airways B757-200, United B757-200 and a Continental 757-200.

Overall, it was a good flight. There were some strong 57-64 knot winds, but they didn't really affect the A340.
Hope you enjoyed. The PHNL-VHHH part will follow.. sometime. xD
