Cloncurry to Darwin

Postby jankees » Sat Jun 27, 2009 3:17 am

The Dutch Government bought a number of P-51's in 1945 for use in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia), and these were delivered in Bundaberg, Queensland, and then flown to Batavia (Jakarta) via Cloncurry, Darwin and Bali.
I recreated one of those Mustangs, and am currently on my way to Batavia. The first leg proved uneventful, apart from the fact that I ran out of fuel and first could not switch between tanks....but I arrived in Cloncurry at last.
Here's a few pics from the second leg:

And safely on the ground!

The next leg is going to be less interesting I fear..

Sorry Jankees but all those shots exceeded the 600kb limit, so I changed the last 4 to links. :(

Great shots though, I love the outback of Australia. 8-)
