Shark Bay Jenny

Postby krigl » Fri May 01, 2009 3:32 pm

OzX 2.2 is out for all FTX Aussies and Aussiewannabes... ;D

I'd been looking forward to Shark Bay for a while and when 2.2 came out I took a break from learning the Twinkie to check it out in this lovely FS9 Jenny basically 'ported' to FSX and repainted with a Qantas logo (it's a fictional situation), also available at OzX.

2.2 brings a fair amount of new destinations and scenery to (not only) Western and central Australia i.e. to the emptier regions, which is most welcome... :)

Just waiting for the FSDiscover! files to come out so I can start touring the Red strips... :)

Thanks for looking

Nice pics.
Yeah, the FS9 Jenny ports over to FSX with no problems.

A while ago I modified it by adding elevator trim, reduced the wind

It looks just like I remember it from the ground, especially in the second shot. I don't assume they modelled the famous stromatolites (or 'living rocks')?

Cheers gents, I'm very happy with Shark Bay, comes with a simple terminal too, replete with 'that' waving man and his gammy leg ;D

RAF Leigh, the same happens as when you install OzX 2.0 and 2.1. It gets better  ;D. Maybe 300 airfields with all the OzX stuff installed, as well as some mines, windfarms, oilrigs and other objects. Add to that shipping ai for the east coast, tube ai for everywhere, freeware mesh, Antony31's freeware airports and Orbx's 7 excellent freeware airports and FTX be truly pimping.

If you don't have FTX you can still install OzX I suppose, but I can't guarantee all the results will be good....

Keep It Simple - be careful when installing the OzX version of the Jenny! It's an automatic installer of the whole aircraft, and so may rub out your existing Jenny.

Jankees - I don't think the stromatolites are there I'm afraid...

Cheers

The OZx sceneries go with FTX and the Holgermesh very well. They even list them as essential addons in their readme files.

That livery and color look very good indeed on that aircraft. I jumped right on OZx 2.2 as soon as I saw these and explored the same area in the Comanche X ;)

I have VOZ for Australia but would OZx 2.2 improve it or just make it worse?

VOZ is for FS9, OzX is for FSX and is aimed at complementing the FTX payware. It doesn't match well with freeware textures.

Unless of course you have the short-lived VOZ X scenery - which was VOZ freeware for FSX and is no longer available. In this case you may experience some doubling-up issues if you use it with the newer OzX scenery.

You need to install OzX 2.0 and then the updates 2.1 and then 2.2.

Cheers
