not showing off... everyone will be able to experience that

Does not require any fancy hardware.. even if you can not run 100% autogen the details will still appear and even with no autogen at all the experience is outstanding

Man do I want to be able to afford the hardware to upgrade to FSX and get THIS kind of exterior visuals for my pit at a fremerate that I can enjoy flying!!!!!!!!

Someday.....sigh.

Wonderful stuff, Nick.  Absolutely stunning.

best,

I dont set up images and I dont hide the data lines.. I just take shots as I see them as I fly

We design GEX around very good but not the best hardware and I take my shots from the same system. The system I snagged every shot you see in this forum is the one I posted back in June of 2007 in the hardware forum.. 3.6Ghz quad, DDR3 and a 8800GTX. I do not use i7 for design of GEX or grabbing shots because that would put the design of the product out of reach for most.

I am using a formula to calculate autogen based on information from Phil Taylor about the PCIe buss and how much AG it takes to saturate it. Its balanced based on that data and typical hardware.

That last shot was mach1 over Paris in a barrel roll. With 100% AG, Scenery Complexity, 3 airports in the area and 59% default traffic that ain't bad. Its clear, smooth and although there is no such thing as a free lunch when it comes to scenery and the frames bounce around, what you see is exactly what I see in my images.

Nick,

You have to remember what my hardware is...... still WAY far from that level.   I still want to get fs2004 maxed.  ;)

By the end of this year I would say a awesome FSX box with even just some minor clocking involved requring no special heatsinks would be down to about 1200.

Maybe I'll be talking a bit with you about hardware about then.   ;)

Thanks.

Are these shots GEX only, or are there any other terrain add-ons?

UTX was enabled however all their roads, rails, highway interchanges, etc were disabled and none of the shots I displayed in the 4 threads I posted would be altered (other than center city Paris) by UTX. Even the Paris shot is still all GEX textures.. UTX only places them in a different order than default.
