Eurofighter Typhoon

Postby Mitch. » Sat Jun 21, 2008 6:33 pm

Your probably wondering why I'm flying a fighter jet well I have really taken a shine to the Typhoon ever since I saw that Top Gear episode where it took on the Bugatti Veyron and won. So heres the AFS Eurofighter Typhoon flying around its home base at RAF Coningsby.

Enjoy...

Excellent! Nice shots!

Saw this thing at Waddington Airshow a couple of years ago and its 'hair on the back of the neck stand up' stuff - and the noise it makes its truly deafening - as it should be! The manouvers it does seem very odd when your watching it, difficult to describe, it seems to turn like its not an aircraft....!

Also i talked to a bloke who works on these things, and how they sit in the hangars at nite plugged in to computers and 'monitor' themselves, self heal if you like, but he said its a PITA when they come in in the morning, and 'computer says no!' as the aircrafts found a fault, and it wont start till youve fixed it!

Fascinating!!!

I was reading somewhere that the aircraft is built to be aerodynamically unstable which gives high agility in a dogfight. It certainly is a feat of engineering, second only to the F-22 Raptor according to an unrealiable source. ::)

I find the scenery to be quite hard on frame rates. :-/

I have not had any problems with the frame rates as of yet ;)
