To the sun!

This is a first try for me, uploading images and stuff onto this site. You tech-freaks might spot that your screens are much better, but personally, I'm really happy about the quality I get, using my Macbook Pro :P

I'm just gonna post one pic this first time around, of my newly acquired AlphaSim F-86F Sabre.

Hope I did everything right...

EDIT:

Oh, and just to be sure, the picture I get when playing is much better than that, the compression and stuff did that :P

Hi Anxyous, welcome to the V! Good to see you're posting a shot here.

That is a very nice screenshot for your first time. I like it a lot. Very photogenetic aircraft (though I don't particulary like Sabres) and some great dynamics! I like it!

I won't go into details but I do like to tell you have you can have shots that 'weigh' 150kb. Yours is about a third of that and it shows; it is too compressed.

Try reading this and see if you can cook soup of it ... if not give me a call; I'm happy to point you in the right direction ;)

BTW: It is not that 'we techfreaks' think that our shots are better than anyone else. There are definitely differences in your shots and the ones that some of our more senior members produce. But that is only because they've learned how to improve, which is one of the reasons why I joined SimV ...

We are (or at least I am) here to help by giving feedback on other peoples shots. I make an effort to comment on every thread in the screenshot section, pointing out things that I see, so that the artist can learn something from it. I don't do it because I need to prove that 'mine is bigger than yours'.

Use IrfanView, available here, to simply resize the image to 1024x??? and it will keep it looking pretty sharp.

Remember to keep it as JPEG or JPG.

x 640 is what I get when resizing from widescreen I think...

I'll give Irfan a try, thanks :)

Bump.

Tried out Irfan View... I managed to hit 149kb, but it was too big, so I have to settle for 134kb.

Better?
