Nationwide Level D

Postby todayshorse » Fri May 16, 2008 1:57 am

Hello all!

Another one from me, just about complete. But this time with proper shots worthy of this section :)

Level D 767 300ER in Nationwide Colours. This airlines defunct now from what ive read but i came across a pic on airliners.net and it caught my eye.

The level d paintkit is a joy! loads of detail that you can add and take away at will - did this astonishingly quick once id got over the logo trouble which Garry Russell sorted for me with the correct method :D

Logos are from the website of nationwide and the tail 'N' is photoreal, mainly becuse its from a photo!!! :D

Thanks for taking the time to have a gander!

Thanks guys! I wish i could take credit for the weathering - but its all included in the paintkit!

Panel lines, weathering, shadows, window dirt, door dirt, cargo door dirt....its already there and by altering the opacity you can customize the look to infinity!!!

Ive treid basic effects like these on the airbus, its a paintstaking time consuming thnig to do.....

Cheers! First and foremost i took these for the actual screenshot value rather than the repaint.....the first jumped out at me during some dawn/dusk settings changes - had to take the shot with the moon sat  there in the background!

They have gone bankcrupt and are no longer flying.

Its a pitty, but proves low cost airliners are not really meant to be.

Only ones surviving are low cost airlines subsidised by bigger airlines, you often found the big airline has shares in the low cost.

Not very ethical I think.

Lovely shots  ;)

Indeed. I must get this uploaded - id got too engrossed in the king air!

Further reading about the fate of this airline revealed it started with an engine 'dropping off' a 737 on take off, they where then grounded. Higher fuel costs seemed to be the final nail in the coffin when they did get going again. Its a nice livery though, suits the '67 very well.
