Somthing ive been working on!

Not brilliant, but im proud of myself so thought id share my efforts!!!

Everything is freeware but i just realised the airport isnt so ill pop them in here....

Thanks to GarryRussell for the advice ;)

This is the original aircraft that i wanted for fs9, pictures are seemingly hard to come by, especialy in colour, and in its original form, without the big hump it now has on its roof, somthing the Army or airforce are doing with it as a flying testbed. Small pic but best i could find in colour!

Its the original prototype 767, N767BA.
Image

The only 767 in these colours, after loads of searching, that i could find was this Fs2002 posky repaint. It was probably very good in its day but in fs2004 its a bit lacklustre. I also thought the blue was a little out. It was also blurry from a distance and overall it wasnt what i was really after!

Fs2002 Posky 767, as N767BA (although the reg is wrong on the model)

So then my forray into 'repainting' (although i dont think this is classed as repainting really!) started.... :-/

Tried to do somthing with the fs2004 posky 767 repaint kit, but im finding it totaly impossible, although i can get the '767' bit on the tailfin :(

So until i figure that side of things out, i was stuck with the fs2002 model and its repaint.

However a day or two of playing, and some kind advice from here, and i managed to darken the blue somewhat, although its still a little blurry as i forgot (well didnt know ;D) what the heck mips were about.

It may not sound much to experienced repainters out there, but this was like a 'Eureka' moment for me - even though all ive done is used another blue and 'filled' over the old blue :D

Now a little darker, but still not brilliant!

Now armed with further knowledge, this is the 32bit no mips saved thing thats almost what i need for what i need it for!

Better blue i think, and looks a lot sharper :D

Sorry for the long post but ive faffed with these things before and never got anywhere. And now ive finally managed to alter somthing and get it to work in fs9!!! :D

However id love a full on posky 767 for fs2004 in these colours with all the lighting effects and shine and so on...maybe in a year or two when ive figured it out!

Thanks for reading my little tale :)

Ive also just installed fs skyworld, which comes out rather nice in these shots also!

Well, you should be! I've tried my luck at repainting (the Mees) and can say that it is not easy but it is indeed a very satisfactory feeling when you see it in action ...

Keep 'em coming!

It does indeed look pretty decent, the easyjet one too - nice work.
