G-TTOC - W.I.P (probably for ever!)

Postby todayshorse » Fri May 09, 2008 2:08 am

Okay okay.

After my last efforts with the 767, which were hardly 'brilliant' ive got embroiled in this repaint lark, so looked around for somthing simple to have a crack at.

Found a nice airbus A320 at projectairbus (its a cracking plane!) and a decent paintkit.........

Hunted for some pics and found this:-

Nothing complicated, probably boring but slightly unusual as once its in full easyjet colours it wont be seen again!

So, here we go with three shots of my progress during the night - all night. Thank god no work! :D

Got the colours and the lines(i think)

Logo (too large i now realise) and reg

Bit more logo!

These are all in 32bit, using the paint kit rather than using a repaint and going over the top of it like i did with the 767!!

I dont think these are too bad considering ive never done this before the other day!

Im aware the logo on the tail is a little too large, also the aircraft has the wrong engines and needs winglets - just need the correct model from projectairbus and most of that is sorted!

Stuck on the '.com' bit in 'easyjet.com', and ive had to use the alphas from the paint that came with the aircraft as im a bit stuck with those at the mo but im sure they are easy to figure!

I used a few things from easyjets website for the colours and the logos, plus two pics of the aircraft :D

Comments and mostly criticism hugley welcome, especialy from you repainting guys out there! ;D

More news!

Now with the right engines and winglets....but as im now experimenting with painting techniques, the blue on the engines no longer matches the blue on the fuselage!! Ill work on that next ;D

Its quite addictive this stuff!

Yes it is, isn't it?! How are the rivets? Once you get to that addictive turns into obsessive or even frustrating ;D

Beautifull bird BTW!

Ive hit a bit of a brick wall.....and im a little stuck!

Ive redone the blue and it looks really good but i need to figure out a few things so the full detail shows within the blue :(

Rivets :( Panel lines :( its getting a little confusing now , and i think its all to do with layers ;D

More reading required :D

It is a nice aircraft though, very good quality, and its free :)
