Well I did it. Installed GEXn. Wow! Desert that looks like desert. My first quick pics of Ajo Mun (PO1) Arizona. Compression hurt them a little , but the bitmap's look super.

This is a BEFORE GEXn. Pretty yucky looking.

And now TA Da!! The new and improved Arizona desert with GEXn.

Yep.. your covered

Xclass will show more green and much nicer mountain valleys

Just make sure the seasonc9.bgl is disabled if you want to see fall and winter correctly. It's in the cloud9 XCLUS\scenery directory. You can simply rename it with a .OLD extension and it will allow the LC to work without messing up the seasons.

Doing that right now. Thanks for the tip.

Lovely shots Bob ... surely a good investment and a huge improvement. I just love my Ground Environment Pro for FS2004 so I can imagine you're loving it in FSX too!

Keep 'em coming!

WWW is What a Wonderful World, a freeware texture replacement release

be very careful with that add-on, there is no uninstall and you must save a copy of your entire Scenery\World\texture folder to restore what it overwrites

Make sure GEX goes in AFTER WWW if you use it (I dont anymore) and make sure you keep a backup of your original texture folder

WWW will overwrite GEXn files and not match correctly. It also swaps textures like rock for grass, etc which looks good in one area and throws things off in another. The maker simply took the default MS textures, did a contrast change and swapped several around

It makes some mountain areas look great and makes other areas look strange. I did not see how much it changed until I used it for a while and was trying to figure out how dru mud ended up where ice sheets should have been placed.

Just make sure to back up and install the GEXn textures after WWW goes in.
