After 2 months of buying parts and waiting for delivery my new rig is finally complete. And what good is a new rig without some new add-ons.

All these shots are made with Acceleration, GEXn, UTX, Xgraphics, and Active Sky X

I am still tweaking the setting in fsx to get them where I like but right now am just happy to be simming on a computer that doesn't drop below 30 fps even when i crank up most of the sliders. Plus these add-ons are spectacular, I could never go back to default.

My new specs
Intel Qx9770 3.2ghz quad core processor
Asus maximus extreme motherboard
8 gigs reaperx dual channel pc 10666 ddr3 memory @ 1333 mhz
EVGA 9800 GX2 1gb ddr3 graphics card
Seagate barracude 1 terabyte hard drive
Ultra X3 1600 watt power supply
Coolermaster cosmos full tower case
Liquid cooling throughout.
Vista Ultimate 64 bit

She is a beast and I am just starting to see what it can do. I will post more when I get everything running at its peak.

Thanks for looking

Around what i wanted in the beginning. ;) Very nice shots. I bet your system could push out better quality textures than that if you tweek around.

Also does the heatsink of the QX9650 fit in the Asus Maximus Extreme? What is the BIOS like in the board? How was your RAM set up? Any glitchs? I am building very much indentical to that of yours so I have questions. :)

I did not even attempt to install the heatsink, I went with water cooling throughout this new build, as far as the bios it is based on AMI micro-code and has more options than i will ever know what to do with. I am nervous about overclocking without someone with more technical experience than I have but it seems like there are literally pages of menus in the bios for adjusting and tweaking settings. The ram I installed worked right off the bat at advertised speeds. Everything has been up and running for 2 days with no issues so far. As far as the textures go I have yet to really push the sliders all the way up but am sure after making changes to the fsx.cfg file i will be able to get some smokin shots out of this rig. I am looking forward to getting this machine over 4.0 ghz, I just read a review stating that this processor can get up to th mid 4 ghz range but once again I would prefer not to burn up a 3000+ dollar machine because of my lack of expertise.

You are a wise young man ;)

The machine you have there is amazing and the graphics are already way beyond anything I could produce. Very, very nice images! I love the lighting and the clouds in the third. I'm afraid to think what your machine would be capable of ...

Good luck & keep 'em coming!
