Time flies!

Time sure does fly and I can't believe that it has already been a year since I started my Tour of the Pacific Coast at Attu Island.

Image

My goal was (and still is) to fly a tour of the entire coast line of the American continent. Not just the United States but all of it!
Starting at the most western tip of Alaska, Attu Island and ending at the most southern tip of Chile: Tierra del Fuego.

Secondary I wanted to share all the scenery that is available for this areas and especially Alaska and British Columbia.

Unfortunately, in October the hard drive on which I had installed Flight Simulator gave up on me.
The process of restoring it has been long, painful and disappointing. Eventually I bought a new drive an rebuilt my sim.

I promise that I will be posting some shots of the continuation of my tour very soon! Stay tuned!

For all of you who don't know what I am talking about or if you're over thirty and need a refresher, here's the story so far. I hope you like.

part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6 - part 7 - part 8 - part 9

While I was flying up the Alaska Peninsula, Martyn (TSC) wanted to meet me while he was in the area.
He decided to fly in opposite direction and hook up with me at the Bush Flying Unlimited base at Akhiok Airport.

part 10 - part 11

And as Martyn needed to haul some cargo to Yakutat which he could not carry in his Twin Bonanza we decided to switch planes.
You can read his flight report (including some very nice screenshots) [url=

Enjoying some magnificent views while I was on Kodiak Island ...

part 13 - part 14 - part 15 - part 16 - part 17 - part 17/2 - part 18 - part 19 - part 20 - part 21

Just before arriving at Anchorage my Twin Bonanza suffered from engine trouble ...

While down at Ted Stevens I had a real nice chance to see some 'Anchorage Action' and I was invited by a friend for some ballooning.

You can see the Ancorage Action series here: part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4

Thank you for looking and as I said, I promise that I will be posting shots from my tour again very soon! Stay tuned!

Good to see you back on the tour Harold, looks like we've both had HD trouble this winter, I've got FS installed again, but nothing like it was.  :'(

Can't wait to see what else transpires on your way south.

All the best,

TSC. (Still in Yakutat).

Thanks for all the nice comments guys ... these are just old shots from previous posts. But it sure is good to be back :D

Got that pesky HDD fixed then?

Unfortunately no ... I got a new drive and rebuilt my sim. But I still have the original drive and I hope that I can get the exact same drive of a local second hand site or maybe eBay. I think all I need is a circuit board as it seems that the platters are still OK.

All my skies are made by Flight Environment, Layne. The weather is controlled by ActiveSky 6.5. The sun is the SunMod by Vince van Veen. You can get it here.
And I don't remember the exact Flight Environment settings but there's a very good chance that it might be these:

If you need anything just let me know; I now have over 400 scenery files just for Alaska.

I already started collecting scenery files for British Columbia. I now have nearly 200, but I think I still miss some ;D

Same here mate ... same here. But I do have some nice things for you in the not so distant future ...
