Nice clouds (FSSkyWorld?) and a really nice detailed bird. We don't see too many World War 1 era aircraft. Too bad they textures for the airmen's heads are missing.

How ever I think you really should experiment with mesh settings and ground textures ...

Clouds are FEX and the airmen are wearing black ski mask because of the cold.

I am not following you at all on the experimenting with mesh settings and ground textures. What are you saying is wrong and what should I be looking for? Here is what I have now.

FSX with acceleration.
"what a wonderful world" addons.
FEX, GEX, and UTX. (of course GEX and UTX have no effect in those shots).

Graphics setting are as follows:
1680 X 1050 X32 resolution
Advanced Animations on
Filtering Bilinear
Anti-Aliasing off

Scenery setting:
All sliders accept water effects at maxed to the right.
Water effects at 2/3 (mid 2.x)
Land detailed textures on
Ground scenery shadows off

Anti-Aliasing is off and as you can see, the shots are clear and sharp. When I turn it on, I get the jaggies.

To me, what I have now gives me the most realistic looking ground textures. Again I ask, what are you saying is wrong and what should I be looking for?

I think the problem is best demonstrated in shot 4. That mountain looks like it was made out of whipped cream.

Apart from that though, these are really excellent shots!

I will agree with you on the snow. I have never been a fan of MS snow but until someone comes up with something better, I will have to live with it. It appears to me that when I change the mesh setting and mess with the ground textures, the problem only gets worse.

You said "best demonstrated" in #4, which to me says there is also problems with the other shots as well. Can you elaborate?

I can see a more minor instance of the same problem in shot 1. Shot 4 just provided the clearest example for me to demonstrate my point. ;)

Mesh is basically what determines the level of detail in elevations presented in the sim. So, with better mesh you get better looking/more accurate terrain elevation details. Mountains, canyons, etc appear more accurate. I think that's what Harold is attempting to suggest to you.

I dont believe there is anyway to adjust the mesh in FSX. You need programs such as FS Global http://fsglobal.com that apply new mesh in the sim.

Hope that makes sense.

There was a set of replacement mountain snow textures...I'm gonna have to look for it...It may have been for FS2002, but I tried it in FS9 and it worked like a charm...I'll dig around for it ;)

lol ... I was already worried that Osama and Muqtada hijacked an aircraft and were after us!

But seriously, you would want to talk to Nick ... I am not the one to teach you about FSX ;)

But you still didn't answer my question. What are you saying is wrong and what should I be looking for? I am not asking you to teach me about FSX, I just want a more indepth explanation of your comment.

Whoa. I think you need to step back and relax. If you'd look further up I tried to answer this question for you yesterday.

Sorry it appears that I was blowing this out of proportion. I didn't mean to do that. I appreciate the answer that you gave me Sovien. I didn't know that you spoke for Harold. He was the one who made the comment and I only want a more indepth explanation from him. Sorry.
