Lady Bird...Heathrow--Miami...Part 1
Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 5:03 pmTime to head back to the states after spending a couple weeks in Europe. Decided to warm up a bit and head to sunny Miami aboard Virgin 5 heavy and enjoy the comfort and style of an Airbus LONG bird 8-)
9:40 AM...awaiting clearance for our 27L departure. Its nice and cold with a few sprinkles beginning to fall.
Let off the brakes, full power to the engines, and slowly beginning our takeoff roll.
Thundering off with the rain starting to come down a little harder.
Spotter braving the rain...making a very slow, heavy climb. Turbulence started getting a little rough turning our wings into rubber
Several hours later and nearing the Florida coast. Began a step decent from FL380 about 250 miles out. ETA 2 PM.
