Araby  3: Saudi mix

Postby krigl » Wed Nov 21, 2007 4:27 pm

Third set from four of liveries of the Arabian Peninsula...and some visitors. This time in Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The freeware scenery isn't too hot, but in that region one is grateful for whatever one can find  :)

Thanks for looking!

Cheers

Wow...The last one is amazing! Mind giving me a link to the scenery? Did you know that a 737-200 of Sudan Airways crashed killing everyone but a 2 year old boy :'(

Thanks Ashar! Here's the scenery link...via the 'usual suspect'  :)

Look just under Samoa  ;)
Like I said, the quality is not something I can really recommend, not wishing to talk down anyone's hard work, but it's not...but worth a try, might be better than default  :-?
Jeddah's not bad, Riyadh  is ambitious but the ground textures are terrible around the terminal, and flicker horribly  when viewed from a distance.

Nice mix of shots. Not too many people are doing south west asian airlines. Nice to see someone mixin' it up!

It's a clever way of gaining FPS...You have multi-LOD models I think that looks great from nearby, yet when they are in the distance, some parts of the model disappear giving you a boost in FPS...All of my AI has it and quite frankly, it's never bothered me ;) ;)

Thanks again!

Evanatorx - I enjoy trying areas other than where people usually fly, and trying to get the best out of them for screenies. I say trying...

Wiiiliketofly - I made the last shot for my kids as a kind of 'join the dots' exercise  :)

Mab_08 - I like it too, my favourite bit about it is the window lighting on that plane, every one looks different, like there's really people inside.

Least favourite bit - the low-polyness of the ai - I zoomed in a bit much methinks  ;D

I've been enjoying the FSX ultralight and doing all the beginners training missions...missions are great and lots of fun - especially soaring! But where's the 'flight school'  :'(
Luckily I have FS9 to fall back on if I need to, ahem, brush up my skills...

Cheers
