DX10 Shots
Posted: Fri Oct 26, 2007 4:23 pmI took a few screenshots showing off DX10, and a few that compare DX10 to DX9. Remember though, this is just a "preview" of what future versions of FS will do with DX10. Again, compression killed them. So...
The first is a set of shots trying to show off the cockpit shadows. It's hard to see in the screenshots (especially in the F/A-18) but if you look in the bottom left corner, you should notice the difference. The shots were taken in a turn, and the second shot is taken shortly after the first shot:
These next shots show off the new white-caps that appear when it's windy out. This first shot is flying over a lake in DX10 with no wind...
The same (or similar) shot in DX10 with a 36kt wind...
The same shot with DX9...
Personally, I like DX9 better for now just because DX10 doesn't have AA support, but the VC shadows look really great in action, and the water in DX10 looks much better (smaller ripples make it look much more realistic), so when that AA support comes around (hopefully), I can definitely see myself switching over to DX10 permanently.
