Postby Josquin » Wed Jul 25, 2007 7:50 pm

I was nostalgic of the old F-104 so i grabbed my broom and dust her out the hangar for a ride with the italian "strega" livery...

Great shots. I noticed the very small wings. Aren't they a little to small?

Crash ;)

Doubt it, some startfighters look a little bigger deu to the feul tanks on the wings. I believe 73 german pilots alone died in peacetime in that aircraft deu to its horrible bahavoir.

ok, on my to buy list

Lots of reasons for the high attrition in German and Canadian service, the 104 was designed as a high altitude interceptor and in units that used it in this roll the loss rate was low. The Germans were using it at low altitude in poor european weather.... having trained in Nevada.
The Japanese, Norwiegans, Belgians, and Taiwanese never had the high loss rates of those countries that used it as a strike platform.

Nice pictures, but who made this?
Btw. No Danes lost their lives whilst flying the starfighter, during it
