Moving further south and passing over Old Harbour (6R7). Basically just a 2750 x 60 ft. gravel airstrip,

Exploring Kodiak Island in sort of an 'M' pattern, my next encounter is with the Peaks View Airstrip at 2395 ft.
The site consists of a nice lodge and an airstrip, approximately 15 miles north of Old Harbour. The scenery is made by Don Moser.
Heading north towards Uganik Bay ...
Turning into Viekoda Bay and passing by Fisher's Depot. Fisher's is a cold storage facility for fishermen to drop off their catch.
Pilots and truckers can pick it up still on ice, for the fastest delivery of fresh fish around.
The landing strip is 2500 ft. while there's also a dock for seaplane pickup. This scenery is also made by Don Moser and is available here.
Fisher's also offers a small little diner to eat at and there is a lounge with small rooms, if you want to catch some sleep ...
Flying over Big Seth's barn very near to Port Lions (ORI). Port Lions was built to house the inhabitants of Ag'waneq
from the neighboring island of Afognak after their village was destroyed by the Good Friday Earthquake in 1964.
Port Lions was built with help from the United States government and the Lions Club and was named in honor of the club.
Stanford University operates a remote scientific radio receiver in Port Lions to study very low frequency radio signals.
The airport basically consists of a 2200 x 75 ft. gravel strip and a couple of hangers.
Again these are enhanced by the Alaska Airports Scenery Enhancement Package.
