Flight Environment?

I just took one because I guess i can't quite get used to it yet. I see the "fire orange" sunset and I can definately tell my water has changed. I don't know. The clouds still look silverwings to me. Maybe it's the choice of clouds. I also turned real world weather on. I just got it this morning with my first chance to play with it tonight. Your thoughts guys? Those who have it anyway. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

If anything I hope you like the shot.

Or this one.

Added this shot so as not to start a new thread on the same topic.

Looks alright, you need to experiment a bit with the different possiblilities to see the magic of FE - you can combine things together to create different looks. As far as I know, silver wings is like the default weather - there's only one possibility at a given time/weather etc. With FE there are millions of combinations, some of which look horrible, some excellent. For example, there are clouds which look greenish, combine them with tropical skies/water and a jungly location and you should get a very saturated green look. Don't forget to turn sight distance down to 30 or so - with real world weather you can end up with infinate view and a hard horizon - . Also, don't forget to get the updates if they weren't included in the package. And, get Ground Environment if you don't have it, it makes a huge difference....

I forgot to mention. In both those shots. Ground Environment. Ultimate Terrain USA. Ultimate Traffic. And Flight Environment are all running but was more interested in the skies vs the ground. I have questions about ground environment, but I'll ask about it elsewhere as I'm sure this isn't the place. Thanks for the suggestions.

If anything, yes I like the shots. The first one has a wonderful brooding atmosphere, while the second shows one of my favorite planes with wonderful lighting. As for the clouds, they don't look that special to me. I use FS Skyworld and am quite happy with those clouds. But then again, maybe you need to experiment a bit more...

Flight Environment is a wonderfull package but FSSkyworld is very close. I just love that B-17 shot; I really like that very nice warm atmosphere. Very well captured Mike!

I'm running Flight Environment, Ground Environment Pro, the Ultimate Terrain series and Ultimate Traffic traffic too and I love them. I also you ActiveSky 6.5 which is worth to try IMO. You can see the results of these addons in my Tour of the Pacific Coast (click the sig).

If you like to learn more about such addons you might consider an FS-GS treatment. Michael not only knows how to setup the sim properly but he has a lot of knowledge about addons too. He gave me a couple of very good setup tips and if you're serious about simming you definately should talk to him. You can experiment all you want but after talking to Michael you're just finished ;)

Keep 'em coming Mike!
