With my graphics card still running, I thought I'd recreate the days when Air France was haulin' butt over the Hump with the big Breguets. Sometimes they'd get an engine-out and have to call in at those small field airports, like Lukla, almost in the shadow of Mt Everest.

I found that simulating the landing at Lukla was beyond my capabilities as a fledgeling intrepid aviator, but had a good go at take off.

We only bounced once, after a stall and a 100 metre drop... I hope all were belted in and had their invulnerability suits on. Then we were up and away through the valleys.

Soon I was able to announce that we had reached the Wild Blue Yonder, and that the cabin crew would shortly be serving local specialities, like tea with lard, and curdled yak-blood sausage.

After about 2 hours we managed to climb to FL 240, and all was plain sailing from there to Siam, though I forgot to switch the contrails on.

Cheers all

Thank you for the very nice comments!

I'm glad you like my posts, Crumbso, I try to make them a bit 'different', which doesn't appeal to all, I can imagine..... and I too have good memories of flying these monsters in formation over the Alps, Stratosaurus.... they made a fine sight!

New teaching semester is hell, but worse is my card or mainboard or SOMETHING is on the blink again....

Cheers all

Busy Krigl....
