All flights in and out of VHHH have been transferred to VHHX. All AI aircraft must follow a right base procedure for landing and are not permitted to fly through the mountain.
A red and white checkerboard is provided so that visiting pilots can confirm they have arrived at their correct destination and to insure a safe arrival curved APL's may assist in rwy alignment.


Pics taken on different days with no aborted landings. It works even in VFR at night too!!!!

The VC10 was actually a regular visitor to Kai Tak They used to fly what was affectionately known as "the bus stop" route. London, Teheran, Bombay, Kuala Lumpur, Hongkong.

So, how many times have YOU landed at Kai Tak???????
